Rupee weakens by 17 paise against dollar 4 Jun 2009, 1007 hrs IST, PTI
MUMBAI: The Indian rupee depreciated by 17 paise to 47.24 against the dollar in early trade today as banks bought the currency (dollar) on behalf of importers and after the USD stabilised against a basket of currencies in Asian markets.

SINGAPORE: Oil prices rose in Asian trade today after falling overnight from seven-month highs in reaction to a surprise jump in US crude reserves, analysts said.
New York's main futures contract, light sweet crude for delivery in July, rose 10 cents to $66.22 a barrel.
