Rupee up 16 paise against dollar 24 Jun 2009, 0935 hrs IST, PTI MUMBAI: The Indian rupee on Wednesday appreciated by 16 paise against the dollar in early trade, taking cues from other Asian currencies. Dr Reddy’s offloads over 9 lakh shares 24 Jun 2009, 0200 hrs IST, TNN HYDERABAD: In a surprise move, the promoters of Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical giant Dr Reddys Laboratories (DRL) have offloaded 9.5 lakh shares of the company worth almost Rs 70 crore through open market transactions. Oil prices ease in Asian trade 24 Jun 2009, 1038 hrs IST, AFP SINGAPORE: Oil traded lower in Asia on Wednesday after a strong rebound overnight, but prices remain under pressure from a weak dollar and the political crisis gripping crude producer Iran, analysts said. In morning trade, New York's main futures contract, light sweet crude for delivery in August, fell 87 cents to $68.37 a barrel. Sensex up 117 points on global cues, short-covering 24 Jun 2009, 1023 hrs IST, PTI MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange’s benchmark Sensex on Wednesday moved up by over 117 points in early trade on fresh buying by funds, tracking firming global cues. LIC to invest Rs 50,000 cr in stocks 24 Jun 2009, 1329 hrs IST, PTI NEW DELHI: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on Wednesday said it will invest nearly Rs 50,000 crore in the equity market this fiscal.
