no WLAN. NO FM.
has IR n bluetooth. One Cam 1.3 MP. I doubt it has a flash. BTW u can get the same model without the cam too.
External card slot is present n also a 70 MB shared memory..
Pretty decent battery life n looks decent too. the big screen is cool.
Will try out this one when its available. ofcourse if its priced sensibly, id be happy ONLY if i got this in the 70 - 75 range, but then knowin nokia, im sure it will be priced higher than this. in ma opinion its not worth more than a 100.
looks like a decent one from nokia after a long time.

Btw, can u suggest or recommend a good Nokia model, sans all these hi-fi features and within the range of 50-70 bucks?
Wud appreciate it, buddy.

The recipient - A middle aged woman....between 30 n 35. Tech-savy - absolutely NO. Medical profession (n No.....its not my wife....its for her friend). Prefer - Flip or sliding....(somethin different). Why Nokia? - Coz I hav been using one (3330) since ages n its still going strong. Plus she too uses a Nokia. Dunno the model....but its the model tat came after the famous Kit Kat model.
If you hav betta choice, I'm all years, buddy.
NB: Its a gift.

Jonyboy.. id actually suggest the SE k700 (it should be around 70 to 80 range), the problem is the availability, but then im pretty sure u can find it.. No not at baraak, but at the airport. Its not a flip or a slide. looks pretty cool if u ask me. BUT if not that.. i suggest z200 z1010.
Nokia suggestions..
7270 - it doesnt have BT, But it does have IR. A decent battery life, looks unique (unique MEANS different in a good sense, ODD means different in a bad sense). Its got most of the standard features like FM n all, its a flip.
doesnt have an external memory.
The cam is a VGA but its pretty neat.
other than that... Nokia 6260 - its got IR, BT, external memory as well.
VGA cam, Mp3, FM. looks decent.
Now another suggestion.. check out the Motorola razr (not the 'i' version, but the old one. dont go for black, go for the silver one - i believe its cheaper now). She might have a tuff time with the menu in the beginnin, but the phone is a looker. its light, its slim (I mean SLIMMMM), looks pretty classy indeed.
All the best.

well im relyin on the fact that when a newer model comes in the stores, the older ones get cheaper. so goin by that, YES most of the above should fall in the price range, 10% + / - (please please please check out the motorola... ive been usin it.. its CRAPPY PHONE, very low memory, cam is.. OK nothin great.. BUT MANNN it looks greattt)

Nokia E50 Introduced for Business Users
The latest addition in this product line is with bar shape and is only 113 mm x 43.5 mm x 15.5 mm big and weighs 104 g.
It is a quad-band business phone with some interesting technologies implemented in it, like the Avaya Communication Manager which is used for connecting to company ground phones via your Nokia E50.
The display of the new Nokia is 262K colors one with 240 x 320 pixels resolution. The phone runs on Symbian 9.1 OS and is based on the 3rd generation S60 user interface. Various business and office features like Intellisync Wireless Email, BlackBerry Connect, Visto Mobile, Activesync Mail for Exchange, and Altexia support and office documents viewer are also built-in. Nokia E50 handles .zip archives and .pdf documents, too.
Connectivity options are GPRS and EDGE, both Class 10. Bluetooth, Infrared and USB short range connectivity is also available. Nokia E50 has 70 MB internal memory and offers a microSD card slot for further extension. The phone has music and video playback support and also features a 1.3 megapixel camera with 4x zoom and video capture. This, however, depends on the local market and dealers, in some markets E50 will be released without a camera. The phone has one preinstalled game and supports both Symbian and Java games so the entertainment part is well ensured.
Currently, Nokia E50 price and release date remain unknown
